These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the delivery and courier services provided by The Good Move (“we,” “us,” “our”). By requesting a quote or booking a delivery with us, you (“the customer”) agree to these Terms.
1. Services
We provide same-day courier, small freight, and furniture delivery services within the Greater Toronto Area using a dedicated cargo van. Service availability depends on scheduling, distance, load size, and vehicle capacity. We reserve the right to decline any job.
2. Quotes and booking
All jobs are priced individually. A quote is provided by email based on the information you supply (pickup and drop-off locations, item size and weight, and timing). Quotes are estimates until confirmed and may be adjusted if the actual job differs materially from what was described. A booking is confirmed only once we reply to accept it.
3. Payment
Payment is due as stated on your confirmed quote or invoice, processed by our third-party payment provider. You agree to pay all charges for services rendered. We do not store your full card details.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for accurately describing the items to be moved, ensuring they are ready and accessible at the agreed pickup time, and confirming someone is available to receive them at drop-off. You confirm you have the legal right to send the items and that they do not contain anything listed under “Prohibited items” below.
5. Prohibited items
We do not transport: hazardous, flammable, or illegal materials; perishable goods requiring refrigeration; live animals; cash, jewellery, or high-value valuables; firearms or weapons; or any item whose transport would breach applicable law. We may refuse or stop a job if prohibited items are involved.
6. Delivery times
We aim to meet agreed timing but do not guarantee exact delivery times. Delays caused by traffic, weather, road conditions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control do not constitute a breach of these Terms.
7. Liability
We take reasonable care with every load. Our liability for loss of or damage to goods during transport is limited to the amount of the delivery charge for that job, unless additional coverage has been agreed in writing in advance. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. We strongly recommend customers insure high-value goods.
8. Cancellation
Cancellation terms are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
